ALL PEDLAR PRESS titles are in print. Anyone can order a copy of any title by contacting Pedlar Press directly. And don’t let any of the on-line behemoths like www.amazon.com tell you that there are no copies available “from their supplier” or that it will take 4 to 6 weeks to get a book. COPIES ARE AVAILABLE. IMMEDIATELY.
The reasons Pedlar Press has stopped doing business with Chapters/Indigo are many and nuanced. Here is an open letter by poet Amanda Jernigan that gets at some of those reasons. http://theliterarytype.ca/2010/05/an-open-letter/
Dear Sir, dear Madam,
I’m looking for a copy of Jason Hrivnak’s The Plight House. I’m French and I live in France. I know there is a french translation of the novel available, but I try to avoid reading translations as much as I can. I’ve tried ordering a copy from a german website this weekend (https://www.buecher.de/shop/englisch/the-plight-house/hrivnak-jason/products_products/detail/prod_id/26981711/) but since they indicate that it would take 2 to 4 weeks to deliver the book in France, I’m not quite sure they have any in stock. Sending books from Canada to France would probably mean a postage fee more expensive than the book itself. Would it be possible for me to order an ebook from you instead ?
With kind regards,
Mathilde Ouvrard
Dear Mathilde, I am sorry but the cost of mailing a book to you from Canada is prohibitive, and we make no e-books. I encourage you to buy the excellent French translation. Yours, Beth Follett
